Looking for a quick, fun getaway that feels a world away but is just a short drive? We just spent a weekend at Camper Cabin 38 in Bunker Hills Campground in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, and it was the perfect escape!
This cozy cabin is a fantastic option for a family or a group of friends. It comfortably sleeps up to six people, with a unique bunk bed setup: two full-size mattresses on the bottom and two twin-sized mattresses on top. The cabin itself is rustic yet comfortable, with electricity, a fan, and even heat for those chilly nights. We visited on a scorching weekend with temperatures over 90 degrees, so we were very glad we brought a portable AC unit to keep cool!

Inside, the cabin has everything you need for a simple stay, including a wood picnic table and a charming log wood chair. The real magic, though, is what’s waiting for you outside.

Just off the small front porch, which has two chairs perfect for your morning coffee, you’ll find a second picnic table for outdoor meals and a fire ring for evening bonfires and s’mores. The bathrooms are just a short walk down the trail, but a friendly tip: bring a flashlight for those late-night trips, as it gets pretty dark!
Whether you’re looking to hike the nearby trails, enjoy a campfire under the stars, or simply unplug and relax, Camper Cabin 38 at Bunker Hills is a great spot to make some new memories. It’s the perfect blend of camping adventure and cabin comfort, proving that you don’t have to travel far to have a memorable vacation.
